This landscape painting by Peter Clapham Sheppard is an impressionist depiction of Black River in Muskoka. He makes use of texture and colour to symbolize the power with which the rapids flow and crash against the pink and peaceful shores. Through the various hues of green, he aptly communicates the depth of the forest as it stretches from the river to the mountains.
