PETER CLAPHAM SHEPPARD
1882 - 1965
Oil on Canvas | 10" x 8"
$5,500
This still life painting has been executed using very loose, free brushstrokes. As a result, the viewer is able to grasp only the essence of the objects included in the painting (a pumpkin, a bottle), rather than their exact likeness. Additionally, since many of these objects extend off of the canvas, it gives the viewer the impression that this painting is only a small section of a larger still life scene.
