Pays en Bleu
oil on canvas | 26" x 32"

This painting is completely abstracted. The largely monochromatic colour scheme is punctuated by large colour blocks. The various juxtapositions of colour highlight the different values used in this composition. Although much smaller in size, the areas where several colours blend together to create a tie dyed effect are very interesting and differentiates this painting from similar work by Rothko and other colour field painters of the mid 20th century.
