This image of a traditional Quebec landscape, a golden field with gentle rolling hills leading to a mountain range pressed against a bright sky, is painted with great skill and technique.  It is done mostly, if not entirely, with a palette knife.  It is this palette knife technique that allows Christian to push the colours to their limit, creating bold layers of brilliant colour, one applied atop the other, for depth and dimension.  The excitement of this piece is this artist’s intrepid and audacious interpretation of this often seen image.
