Harris paints soft shapes with even softer colours that coordinate so well that he creates visual harmony throughout the piece. The result of this technique is a very serene painting that looks upon subject with fondness. His ample use of texture also contributes to the almost dream-like atmosphere of the piece. A house in Toronto, he steps outside of the usual landscape theme for the Group of Seven and creates a calming depiction of city life.
